  1. Welcome to Areafix v1.20!

  3. This latest Areafix release builds on the strong foundation laid
  4. by Greg Dawson in his v1.00 and v1.10 releases. The Areafix.Prn
  5. and Areafix.Use files have been updated along with the program
  6. so you'll have the latest information available. Don't be afraid
  7. to Read The Fine Manuals. <g>

  9. If you're installing Areafix for the first time, you can use the
  10. Sample.Ctl file as a starting point for building your own
  11. Areafix.Ctl.
  12.  
  13. If you're now using v1.10, the new version includes one new
  14. feature -- zone support -- that requires your attention at
  15. upgrade time. Before v1.20 will run, you'll have to change the
  16. Address line in Areafix.Ctl so it includes your primary zone
  17. number.

  19. If you operate only in one zone and do not feed echomail to nodes
  20. in other zones, your upgrade will be complete as soon as you move
  21. the new Areafix.Exe.
  22.  
  23. If you operate in multiple zones you'll want to adjust other lines
  24. in areafix.ctl and areas.bbs to match your distribution needs.
  25. You'll also need to look at your Areafix.Que file and add zone
  26. numbers for addresses not in your own zone. The first time v1.20
  27. runs it will add your primary zone to addresses without one.

  29. The testers have worked long and hard to make sure v1.20 is clean.
  30. But the real world sometimes offers surprises. It's always a good
  31. idea to backup your control files (areas.bbs and areafix.ctl)
  32. before you install the new software.

  34. The program is still Greg's. But all new bugs and problems are
  35. mine. Please don't burden Greg with problems unless I'm not
  36. maintaining the program well.
